ECA COMMUNITY

Along with our grassroots advocacy efforts on behalf of gamers, the ECA is dedicated to providing a wealth of community benefits to our members. With membership, you can connect with like-minded gaming fans, explore career and educational opportunities in gaming, and more. Even better, by supporting the ECA you'll instantly become part of an energized network of passionate, politically aware gamers.

Be it in-person or on-line, we're trying to make it easy for you to engage with other gamers. If you're looking for additional ways to connect, check out some of the below options:

  • Chapters: Start or join a regional chapter of the association in your area and meet-up with other gamers in your community. Think of our network of chapters like fraternities/sororities or the franchisor/franchisee model. We're excited to see their growth and encouraged to see how they're getting involved. To start your own chapter click here to download the agreement form for chapters in the United States or click here for chapters in Canada and then email (Matthew@theeca.com) or fax (+1-203-761-6184) it to our Coordinator, Matthew Olschan.
  • Connect: Check out our presence on just about any of the major social networking websites to build your network, chat with other gamers, discuss topically-relevant issues, view profiles, share pictures and experiences, find out more about what we're up to, or engage in any of our digital advocacy initiatives. We've got groups, fan pages and accounts for the association, our publications and, in many cases, for each of the major issues areas in which we're involved. To see the list of our social networking homes, just click here.
  • Forums: The ECA hosts a robust discussion board within which topics ranging from the politics of gaming, to the medium's impact on our culture can be found. We've also integrated our publications (GameCulture, GamePolitics and GameJobs) into the forums as additional resources and touch-points. You don't need to be an ECA member to join, but you will have to complete a free registration. Check out the boards here, or in the main navigation at the top of the page.
  • Game Nights: The Entertainment Consumers Association takes games-related advocacy issues seriously...But we’re gamers first and foremost, and even we need a break for fun sometimes. Come hang out with us and take on other members, Chapter Heads or ECA Staffers. Game Nights are open to everyone, so join us every week on either PC or Xbox. Click here for our scheduled events, or keep an eye on our social networking sites and pages, where we promote them regularly.
  • LAN Parties: Create, host or join a LAN party or clans. We partnered with some of the leaders in the field, so there are a lot of options to choose from including opportunities from the ECA and/or our strategic partners.
  • Surveys & Contests: As influential members of the gaming community, ECA members get a chance to voice their opinions and influence how companies create, market, and sell game-related products and services on a fairly regular basis. We also offer ways to participate in contests such as treasure/scavenger hunts and promotions which often have some compelling prizes and special offers for members.

This page is updated regularly as our online community grows larger and more diverse. Explore the links in the left-hand navigation bar to explore our current and near-term community offerings. If you're already a member and have some suggestions about what additional opportunities could be offered, please let us know. We value your opinion!
